District Plans and Reports
Climate change is one of the most pressing challenges facing our planet today. The impacts, including rising temperatures, melting glaciers, and more frequent and severe natural disasters, are undeniable and require immediate action. As students and leaders representing the next generation, we understand that the most pressing need is to address the climate crisis before it’s too late. And as time continues and climate change becomes more extreme, it is critical for our district to lead the way in promoting sustainability.
The Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELO-P) in California provides state funding for afterschool and summer enrichment for transitional kindergarten (TK) through 6th-grade students. It focuses on supporting underserved students—specifically English learners, low-income students, and foster youth—by offering hands-on, engaging, and academic, social, emotional, and physical enrichment, often including arts, STEM, and sports.
The Governing Board believes that visual and performing arts are essential to a well-rounded educational program and should be an integral part of the course of study offered to students at all grade levels. The district's arts education program shall be designed to foster students' artistic competencies, cultivate students' appreciation and understanding of the arts in ways that are enjoyable, fulfilling, and transferable to students' personal, academic, and professional endeavors, and support students to fully engage in lifelong arts learning.
The Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) Federal Addendum is meant to supplement the LCAP to ensure that eligible LEAs have the opportunity to meet the Local Educational Agency (LEA) Plan provisions of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA).
