Celebrating Communication Playground Boards Across Lafayette School District

We are excited to share that every elementary campus in our district now has a Communication Playground Board, made possible through the generous support of the Special Education Enrichment Development Foundation (SEED), a local nonprofit that funds programs to enhance learning opportunities for students with diverse needs. These boards are designed to foster early language development and familiarize all students with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), providing students with additional ways to communicate, engage, and participate in learning.

A heartfelt thank you to SEED for funding this project and partnering with us. We also want to recognize the LAFSD Facilities Team, who built the frames and installed the boards at each site, ensuring they were safe, functional, and ready for students to use.

These Communication Playground Boards are a wonderful example of how community support, thoughtful design, and district teamwork come together to create more inclusive and supportive learning environments for every student.
