Welcome to the 2025-2026 School Year!

Dear Lafayette Families,

Welcome to the 2025–2026 school year!

I hope that summer brought your family a chance to rest, reconnect, and recharge. We’re so glad to welcome your children back to our campuses, and we’re excited for all the learning, growth, and discovery that lies ahead.

At the Lafayette School District, we are deeply committed to providing an outstanding education for every student. Our educators work hard to create classroom environments that challenge and support learners, where curiosity is sparked and individual talents are nurtured. We care deeply about all of our students—who they are, how they learn, and the unique contributions they make to our schools.

This excellence is made possible in large part by the longstanding support of our community, including your donations to Lafayette Partners in Education (LPIE) and your support of our local parcel taxes. The investments that this community makes in our schools are visible every single day—in art and music classrooms, science labs, libraries, and in the additional staff who help our children thrive.

In the weeks ahead, I’ll be sharing a few short updates about important aspects of the 2025–2026 school year that I think will interest you—new instructional initiatives, state and federal funding, and opportunities to get involved in our school communities. I look forward to staying in touch.

Here's to a great start to the school year!

Warmly,
Brent Stephens
